1. Are the results permanent?
Yes, you will notice significant hair reduction on all skin and hair types: provided that you follow through with the full course of treatment per our assessment. Some hair removal experts feel that laser removal may not work on 1-5% of patients.
2. Do I need medical supervision for E-LIGHT hair removal?
No. We take the safety of our patients very seriously. We are extremely experienced at performing Laser Hair Removal procedures.
3. Who is forbidden?
1. People who are allergic to light.
2. Pregnant women, diabetes suffers, cardiac patients, people with hypertension, epilepsy and skin cancer.
3. People with cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator.
4. People whose treatment parts are damaged.
5. People who are just back from the beach. The skin is very weak after the exposure in the sun.
4. Does the E-LIGHT treatment hurt?
There is some discomfort, but tolerance varies with each individual. For extremely sensitive areas a topical anesthetic can be used. Most people describe laser as similar to a pinch of a rubber band. Some people describe electrolysis as similar to a mosquito bite or a pinch.
5. What should I do before my E-LIGHT treatment?
Avoid sun exposure. You cannot wax, tweeze, thread or have electrolysis for 4-6 weeks before a treatment. To manage hair between appointments, please shave or trim. The goal is not to remove hair as we would have to wait for it to fully regenerate; try to just keep it cropped close to the skin. We need to see 2 to 3 days visible stubble of hair growth at minimum so that we can see the coverage area of the hair.
6. What happens after my permanent hair reduction treatment? Is there down-time or side effects?
There is very little if any recovery time, though you may have some redness following a treatment, this may last between one and eight hours. For 24 hours after your treatment you should avoid heat treatments, saunas and direct sun exposure, we recommend using sun block on exposed areas. You should allow around 14-20 days for the hairs to fall out following your treatments, you can aid this process by exfoliating.
We know from experience that a number of treatments are required over a period of at least 12 months for any area treated, this will vary between patients.
7. What kind of results can be expected?
Each treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in color, becoming finer and also slowing re-growth. The treated area will ‘shed’ some hairs over the next 3-4 weeks and there may be a short period of irregular hairlessness in the area until the conclusion of the course.
It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 4-8 treatments; however, individual results vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Lighter colored hair may require more treatments than darker colored hair.
8. What should I do to manage the hair between treatments?
Shaving is the recommended way to manage hair growth between treatments. Do not wax, tweeze or use any other process that pulls hair out by the roots.
9. How frequently?
Most people achieve satisfactory removal of unwanted hair after 4-8 treatments, which are usually performed every 1-2 months. This depends on individual factors that we will discuss during consultation.
