HZDZ 800kva used for Electro-slag Furnace OLTC transformer
The electro-slag furnace is used to refining steel materials made by ordinary metallurgy method. Normally the electro-slag furnace uses single phase power supply.
Application of electro-slag furnace transformer
The electro-slag furnace transformer can be used for power supply of electro-slag furnace. The electro-slag furnace can produce aviation bearing steel, high temperature alloy, resistance alloy, precision alloy, some nonferrous metals, high quality big alloy steel ingot, big flat ingot or plate, and other special shaped casting.
Characteristics of electro-slag furnace transformer
There is no electric reactor in electro-slag furnace transformer. Electro-slag metallurgy and electric arc steelmaking use different electric arc furnace transformers. When directly using electrode plus auxiliary steel scrap to build arc and slag, electric arc is only available at the beginning. After finishing build slag, it becomes an electro-slag process with hardly any arc. This process continues until the end of smelting. The transformer for power source of electro-slag furnace needs low open circuit voltage and small impedance voltage. The low voltage of electro-slag furnace transformer needs voltage regulating stages. The voltage regulating methods are as follows: 1. Voltage regulation with no excitation and no load. 2. Voltage regulation with excitation but no load. 3. Voltage regulating with load. No matter which method is used to regulate voltage, voltage is regulated by using the switch on high voltage coil.
