It is atomic crystal with lubricity, wear resistance and oxidation resistance when it meet high temperature.And it can resist cold and hot shock, when heated to above 1000 ℃ in air, rapidly cooled and then heated rapidly, it won't crush.Because of these excellent properties, people often use it to make bearings, steam turbine blades, mechanical seal rings, permanent mold and other mechanical components.
Application

1.Silicon nitride is used as highgrade refractory material, when combined with sic as SI3N4 - sic refractory materials;
2.it can be used for blast furnace body and other parts, also can be used as stemming additive and groove material admixture;
3.When combined with boron nitride as Si3N4 - BN materials, it can be used for separation ring of horizontal continuous casting;
4.It is used as increased nitrogen agent and refining agent in steelmaking industry, as anti-wear additives in casting industry.
