HDPE Microducts General Description:
It becomes more important than ever to better utilize the available space in your existing duct systems. Using MicroDucts is a better way to utilize that empty space, both today and tomorrow. It allows you to expand your fiber network as you bring on new customers. It enables you to increase bandwidth as your needs increase. And, it allows you to do it easily, without adding extra fibers that might never be used. Microducts save you time and money, allowing for economical growth within your communications network.
Micro duct is mainly made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and manufactured by the technology of synchronized extrusion of PE. Its standard outer diameter is less than 16mm and its inner wall is permanently solid lubricant layer (silicon layer). Its construction has the following characteristics:
- Two layers, inner and outer layer is manufactured by the technology of synchronized extrusion of PE in order to achieve the tight joint without separation.
- Inner wall of duct has two kinds: smooth inner wall or the inner wall with longitudinal ribs to guide the airflow. No matter which kinds, both are permanently solid lubricant layer with very low friction of coefficient.
- The duct surface is smooth without defects such as visible holes or scars..
The HDPE raw material used for the manufacture of micro duct has the following technical specifications:
Density: 0.935 ~ 0.958 g/cm3
Melt Flow Rate: 0.1 ~ 1.2 g/10min ( 190°C,2.16Kg )

Classification and Structure of Micro Duct:
The appearance of whole micro duct has solid color, Hawei can provide the full color spectrum to customers as required for choice.
In general, there are two typical sections of micro duct as follows:
