Web lashings

Description
Web lashing is designed to be attached to the lashing points in order to secure the cargo on vehicle e.g. trucks and trailers which are used on roads or located on vessels or on rail wagons and/or combinations thereof, or play a role of fixing objects, consisting of a tensioning device or a tension device and flat woven textile webbing with or without end fittings. The webbing is made from polyester, polyamide or polypropylene. It has such two main types as one-piece web lashing and two-piece web lashing.

Features
 Easy to handle
 Woven stripes on webbing indicate the minimum breaking force. And the stripes can not be woven if required.
 Webbing made from polyester material not to be easy to absorb water, and moreover, resistant to abrasion . It is attacked by alkalis but resistant to mineral acids and suitable for use in the temperature range of -40.to 120.C (-40 to 248.F);
 Choice fittings on ends are heat-treated, and at the same time, can also be specified as required;
 PU coating or protective sleeves to be applied if required.
 Low extension, not more than 7% at 1 LC.
 The imprint on webbing also optional.

 

 

Application

 

 

Use and maintenance of web lashing
 In selecting and using web lashing, consideration shall be given to the required lashing capacity, taking into account  the mode of use and the nature of the load to be secured.
 Check the tension force periodically, especially shortly after starting the journey.
 Release of the web lashing : Care should be taken to ensure that the stability of the load is independent of the lashing equipment and that the release of the web lashing shall not cause the load to fall of the vehicle , thus endangering the personnel.
 Because of different behaviour and elongation under load conditions, different lashing equipment (e.g. lashing chain and web lashings ) shall not be used to lash the same load. Consideration shall also be given to ancillary fittings (component) and lashing devices in the load restraint assembly are compatible with the web lashing.
 Before attempting to unload a unit of load its web lashings shall be released so that it can be lifted freely from the load platform.
 During loading and unloading attention has to be paid to proximity of any low overhead power lines.
 For the web lashings made from different synthetic multi-filament material, they have the different resistance to the chemical attack:
Polyester web lashing is resistant to mineral acids but is attacked by alkais. Nylon web lashing are virtually immune to the effects of alkais. However, they are attacked by mineral acids. Polypropylene web lashing is little affected by acids and alkalis and is suitable for applications where high resistance to chemicals ( other than certain organise solvents) is required.
Solutions of acids or alkalis which are harmless may become sufficiently concentrated by evaporation to cause damage. Take contaminated webbing out of service at once, thoroughly soak them in cold water, and dry naturally.
 The temperature range for the web lashings to be suitable for use:
For polyester web lashing, -40 to 120.C(-40 to 248.F)
For nylon web lashing, -40 to 100.C(-40 to 212.F)
For polypropylene web lashing, -40 to 80.C(-40 to 176.F)
Changing the environmental temperature during transport may affect the forces in the web lashing. Check the tension force after entering warm areas.
 Web lashings shall be rejected or returned to our factory or other competent organizations next to you for repair if they show any signs of damage.
The criteria are considered to be signs of damage as follows:
Only web lashings bearing identification labels shall be repaired;
If there is any accidental contact with chemical products, a web lashing shall be removed from service and our factory or dealers shall be consulted;
For web lashings (to be rejected): tears , cuts , nicks and breaks in load bearing fibres and retaining stitches; deformations resulting from exposure to heat;
For end fittings and tensioning devices: deformations, splits , pronounced signs of wear, signs of corrosion.
 Care should be taken that the web lashing is not damaged by the sharp edges of the load on which it is used. A visual inspection before and after each use is recommended.
 Web lashings shall never be used when knotted.
 Damage to labels shall be prevented by keeping them away from sharp edges of the load and , if possible, from the load.
 The webbing of web lashing shall be protected against friction, abrasion friction, abrasion and damage from loads with sharp edges by using protective sleeves or corner protectors.
