Side Release Buckle Straps come in many different designs typically utilizing a Side Release Buckle 

sewn to the end of a piece of webbing.

 Because of the buckle, you would feed the detached end around any object and back to the buckle again. 

Side Release Buckle Strapsare designed so that once the webbing is fed through the slots in the buckle, 

a simply pulling on the loose end is all that is needed to tighten the strap to your load. 

The adjuster slots on the buckle, on one or both sides, grips the webbing as you tighten. 

Once the webbing is tight it will not slip until you work slack into the adjuster. 

Side Release Buckle Strapsare used in light to medium applications where you need something held secure, 

with a quick release option.

Flat Nylon: Flat nylon is best used for higher abrasion applications.  

It is not recommended to use in or around water continuously because it absorbs water quickly, 

causing rot & mildew. 

 It can also stretch up to 2% of its length when wet (submerged in water multiple times).  

However, if you need a heavy duty strap for a "beefy" job, this webbing is for you.  Nylon has a thickness of .

070 - .075 of an inch and its breaking strength on flat nylon ranges from 2275lbs. - 5500lbs.

Heavyweight Polypropylene: Heavyweight polypropylene is great to use in the outdoors.  

It has excellent UV protection, and it doesn't absorb water quickly giving it resistance to rot & mildew. 

 The abrasion resistance isn't very high, so we recommend not using this material against rough edges.  

This webbing is perfect for medium duty applications.  It has a thickness of .

060 of an inch and its breaking strength ranges from 675lbs. - 1800lbs.

Lightweight Polypropylene: Lightweight polypropylene is also great for the outdoors.  

It differs from the heavyweight by breaking strength and stiffness.  

Other than that, it has all the same specs as the heavyweight polypro. 

 Lightweight is .040 of an inch thick and its breaking strength ranges from 375lbs. - 750lbs.

Side Release Buckle Straps, like plastic cam buckle straps, these straps are for light duty applications. 

Strapworks' offers two styles, the first style is a single adjust buckle the webbing sew on to the female side of the buckle and 

the male side allows adjustment of the strap. The second style is a double adjust buckle where both sides are adjustable 

because the webbing is not sewn on to the buckle. Side release buckle straps are used for belts, containment, lashing straps, 

etc. A strap is only as strong as its weakest link. A guide line for finding a safe working load is to take the breaking strength 

and divide it by one third. For example, Strapworks’ flat nylon webbing 3/4 inch has a breaking strength of 2375 pounds, 

so a safe working load is 791 pounds. You also need to calculate your safe working load for your buckles and your stitching.
