About silicon barium calcium Inoculant
Calcium silicon barium alloy is an effectively new type of composite alloy, which is deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking and has the performance of dephosphorization, in addition which is also inoculant and metamorphic agent in casting.
Inoculants are added in liquid cast iron in order to provide the best and consistent characteristics in the final casting. They are used to control matrix structure and avoid casting defects.
Gray Iron
1.Achieves excellent Chill Reduction.
2.Improves Mechanical Properties.
3.Excellent Fading Resistance.
4.Ideal for thick castings, where solidification times are long.
S.G.Iron
1.High Nodule Count and Good Nodularity.
2.Less slag generation.
3.Excellent fading resistance Ideally suited for longer pouring times.
4.Eliminates carbides, even in thin sections.
Application
1)Homogeneous precipitation of graphite in gray iron casting, while avoiding undercooled graphite
2)Aiming for high number of graphite nodules in ductile iron casting
3)Avoidance of chilling, carbide formation and hard edges
