Bees forage for our Honeydew honey in remote native Black and Red Beech forests in the South Island of New Zealand. 

 

The colour is dark and the taste similar to golden syrup/treacle.

 

Delicious with plain yoghurt, on toast, in drinks or with your cereal each morning.

Details

Nelson Honey's Honeydew is the product of two insect types.  Small scale-insects inhabit the beech forests and produce Honeydew, a sticky sap-like substance adhering to the insects and beech trees.  The honeydew is then gathered by bees.

The complex sugars (Oligosaccharides) in Honeydew may support our intestinal function.  Honeydew has antibacterial activity similar to Manuka honey and higher levels of antioxidants than floral honeys.

A tangy honey, great as a spread or with cereal, a sweetener in coffee or used as a food marinade.

Available in convenient 250g and 500g packs and a 1Kg value pack.
