DJI Phantom 3 Motor Mount Stress Crack Fix Support Kit Accessories
Package includes:
4 x 3D printed supports
16 x motor mount screws
8 x body shell screw
1 x screw driver
Installation instructions:
1. Place the P3 upside down on a table.
2. Use a 2mm Hex driver to remove the 4 factory motor mount screws from a motor (work on one motor at a time!) The motor will now be loose in its opening, try to keep the motor aligned as it was in the opening, do not flip the P3 over or move it until the new part is installed
3. Use a Torx 8 bit to remove the 2 factory shell half screws
4. Place the 3D printed part in the existing screw openings (it is designed to sort of snap lightly into place to hold it)
5. Drop 4 of the motor mount screws in the motor mount openings and the 2 of the longer thinner screws in the shell openings (DO NOT Tighten anything yet!)
6. Begin to very lightly tighten each of the screws in a criss-cross pattern, if everything is lined up correctly, you will feel resistance as the screws begin to thread into the motor and shell
7. If a screw is just spinning in place, it means that you have misaligned the motor or let it pull away a bit, if this happens, remove the screws and look down in the holes and push and turn the motor a bit until you see its screw holes line up
8. finish tightening each of the screws in a criss cross pattern. You only need to get them finger tight. Double check each screw to make sure it is finger tight because they will move around a bit as the 3d printed motor mount gets pulled tighter against the P3's body. check them again after a short flight to make sure they are still tight. Use threadlock at your own discretion as it has been reported that some types of threadlock will weaken DJI's plastic even further.
I make no guarantees that this product will solve all issues with P3 stress cracks. If you have severe cracks, I would recommend contacting DJI for warranty repair.
