FAQ

Do I need a SIM card to use the T6-L?

The quick answer to that is: No.

The T6-L can be used with a SIM card, OR connected to your landline, or both.

- Using a landline connection enables a basic interaction with your alarm system (by phone call).

- Using a SIM card (sold separately) enables a more advance interaction with your system (by phone call, SMS or app).

- Using both the SIM card and the landline connection offers an optimal security, as you always have a backup in case your landline or your cellular network is down.

Can I use my T6-L without the SIM card?

Yes

The T6-L Control Panel can be used either with a SIM card (GSM mode), plugged to your telephone landline (PSTN mode), or, for optimum security, both (connected to your telephone landline AND with a SIM card).

What if I use my system without only connected to a telephone landline?

If your T6-L Control Panel is only connected to a landline, you will be informed by phone call in case of intrusion. You can also interact with your control panel by phone call. You cannot however interact with your control panel by SMS or with our iOS and Android apps.

And what if I use my system with a SIM card only?

If there is a SIM card in your control panel, all the features of your control panel can be accessed, provided of course that you have enough credit on the SIM card.

What is the benefit of using the T6-L Control Panel with a SIM card AND plugged to your landline?

For people willing to obtain the maximum level of security, you can use your T6-L Control Panel plugged to your landline and with a SIM card. So for example if an intruder cuts your telephone line, you would be informed by SMS in case the alarm system is triggered.

Alternatively, if for any reason your cellular network fails the day something happens in your home, you can still be informed by phone call thanks to the landline connection. So you are covered in one way or another.

What kind of SIM card shall I use?

The control panel of the T6-L can be used either in GSM mode (with a SIM card) or in PSTN mode (plugged to your telephone landline). In GSM mode, we recommend you to use a SIM card with an unlimited text and one-hour voice plan.

The SIM card must work on the GSM network (Ask your carrier for more information).

To purchase a SIM card, you do not need to purchase a new phone.

More and more mobile carriers offer “Bring Your Own Device” programs, which enable you to purchase only the SIM card with the plan you need.

Before purchasing your SIM card, make sure the latter is working on the GSM network. Attention: the control panel of the T6-L only supports regular SIM cards. It does not support Micro SIM and Nano SIM cards.
