The centric ring is a device used with the rims and are installed between the car wheel hub and the rim. The purpose of the hub centric ring is to fill the empty space between the wheel hub and the center bore of the rim. Centric rings are usually made of durable industrial plastic. Centric rings are also made of aluminum.

Centric rings are needed when the hub hole (the center bore) on the rim is larger than the wheel hub of the car. The rim manufacturers deliberately make the hub ring as large as possible for the rim, taking in to consideration the hub hole, to allow the same rims to be sold for the various different models of car using hub centric rings.

Installation:  

1,Lift your car with a floor jack until you have raised the wheel on which you want to install the hub ring off the ground. Support the car with a jack stand when the wheel has enough clearance for you to remove it from the car.

2,Break the lug nuts off the wheel using a four-way tool. Remove each of the nuts from around the rim so you can release the wheel from the car.

3,Pull the wheel off the car using both hands. If your wheel has become rusted or dirty, you may feel some resistance; pull the wheel off firmly.

4,Run an emery cloth around the hub in the middle of the lug bolts to clean it. The ring will fit tightly on the hub; if any dirt or residue remains, you won't be able to get it onto the hub.

5,Hold the hub ring right in front of the hub, and slide it on. Check to ensure the ring is fully seated on the hub to complete installation. Install any remaining hub rings in the same way
