PH
pH is a measure of th amount of acid or alkaline materials in your water. A pH level of 7.8 or higher can cause eye or skin discomfort. A level below 7.2 can also cause discomfort to swimers and cause corrosion of pool parts. The ideal pH range is 7.4 to 7.6.
Total Alkalinity
Total Alkalinity is a measure of the level of alkaline materials (bicarbonates and carbonates)in your watr. Alkalinity and pH work in tandem. The alkaine substances act as a buffer in your water to prevent sudden pH changes. The ideal level range is 80 ppm to 120 ppm.
Free Chlorine
Free Chlorine is the amount of chlorine available in your water to sanitize, disinfect and oxiize. Keeping the Free Chlorine level within the ideal range helps keep water crystal clear. The ideal level for pools is 1 to 3 pm nd the ideal level for spas is 3 to 5ppm.
