Standard Specification
TANK CONTAINERS:
- Tank containers are required to be at least 80% full, to prevent dangerous surging of the liquids in transit. On the other hand, they must not as a rule be over 95% full, or there will not be sufficient ullage space for thermal expansion.
- The 20-foot ISO frame is constructed to absorb the stresses of a full tank container and to facilitate its handling and stowage by gantry cranes and straddle carriers.
- Tank containers are generally designed for an operating pressure from 1.75 (IMO/2) to 4 bar (IMO/1). IMO/1 Tank containers are generally used for highly hazardous cargoes whilst IMO/2 tank containers are used for low to medium cargoes.

APPLICATIONS:

1. Foodstuffs (fruit juice, spirits, sweet oils)
2. Chemicals
3. Petrol, transformer oil, lube oil, ammonium nitrate, toxic substances, diesel and more
Tank shell – 316 grade stainless steel or 304 stainless steel or carbon steel Q235B
Framework – carbon steel
Fittings (detailed per tank)
1 x 500mm top manway (top inspection man-hole)
1 x 3” outlet assembly
2 x top flanged connections with P/V relief device
1 x 3” opening top flange
Preparations & Inclusions
The containers are offered inclusive of:
1. Seaworthiness certificate (CSC) which covers the frame and structural integrity and the IMO certification for the movement of hazardous cargo. It’s valid for 5 years, but requires renewal (intermediate inspection) after 2 ½ years.
2. Internal cleaning, including certificate of cleanliness
3. External cleaning
