 Introduction 

When classified according to ionic model, there are three types of polyacrylamide products, i.e. cationic, anionic and nonionic. The flocculating mechanism of polyacrylamide is that polyacrylamide has polar amide groups, and amide groups are liable to be absorbed on sediment particle surface under hydrogen-bond interaction. Moreover, polyacrylamide flocculant has very long molecular chains, which is 100Ao long but only 1Ao wide, a great magnitude of long chains have enormous absorption surface areas in water, so the flocculation is good, and the long chains can be used to bridge the flocculating particles to form large particle flocculating constituents and accelerate sediment.

Under the action of NaoH and other alkalies, polyacrylamide is extremely prone to hydrolysis reaction, in which some of the polyacrylamide produces sodium poly-acrylate. Sodium poly-acrylate molecules are not stable in water, they are dissociated into RCOO-Na+. Therefore, the polyacrylamide hydrolysis product is the copolymer of polyacrylamide and sodium poly-acrylate. Due to the function of RCOOC- (hydroxy), the polyacrylamide hydrolysis product becomes anionic high molecular flocculant while the non-hydrolyzed polyacrylamide flocculant is nonionic high molecular flocculant. It may be seen from the above hydrolysis equation that part of polyacrylamide hydrolysis product has certain taste of amine. Just from this point, it can be simply distinguished whether the polyacrylamide has been hydrolyzed. After polyacrylamide is partially hydrolyzed, the property is changed from nonionic to anionic, under the function of ionic electrostatic repulsion of RCCO-(hydroxy) group, the curly molecular chains on the main chains of polyacrylamide are unfolded and lengthened, the absorption area is increased and the bridging ability is improved, so the flocculating effect of partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide is superior to the effect of nonionic polyacrylamide.

  Application

1.It is need to blend the pruducts into 0.1%-0.3% aqueous solution with neutral water without any salt or other adulterants

2.Spread the products in to stiring water evenly. Stiring speed need 100-300rpm. property warming(<60°C) can accelerated dissolution.

3. Adjust the PH of the liquor to make full use of it.

4.Whe you add the product,speed up the stiring .After the appearance  of flocculate,slow down the pace for better sedimentation.

Package & Storage and Cautions

The package is made with 25kg linning plastic woven bags or plastic compound sacks or as customer’s option.

During transportation to prevent heat, moisture and packaging damage. The dry product will absorb moisture and caking, if you put it on the air for a long time. The number of stacking layers can not be maore than 20. the effective storage period is 2 years.

PAM is non-poisonous,but it is harmful when inhaled more than 5‰.
