Tempered glass
Tempered glass is made by heating flat glass to just below its softening temperature and suddenly chilling it with jets of cold air. It results in the outer skins under powerful compressive stress and the interior with severe tensile stress. In consequence, the impact applied to the glass will be overcome by the compressional stress on the surfaces to assure safety of use.
Parametres:
1) No tong marks on the glassas.
2) 5 times stronger than ordinary float glass.
3) Once breakage occurs, the glass disintegrates into small cubical fragments, which are relatively harmless to human body.
4) It withstands abrupt change of temperature, a piece of 5mm tolerates the temperature variations within the range of 220 Centigrade.
5) Tempered glass should undergo heat soak to improve safety in use.
Applications:
1) Traffic vehicles: automobile, train
2) Architecture application: windows of bathing room, automatic doors or other ares.
3) Household applications and furniture, such as glass table top.
Thickness: 3.2mm-19mm.
Max. size:2438x8000mm, could be produced as per request.
