EBT filling material Olivine sand
As a Refractory Aggregate, Olivine is noted for its high fusion point, low uniform thermal expansion, and its remarkable ability to resist fracture from thermal shock. Olivine has been famous for years in Steel Plants operating with Electric Arc Furnaces as Eccentric Bottom Tap Hole (EBT) Filler during melting operations. Due to high refractoriness of Olivine, it is a cheaper and efficient substitute of Magnesite and Chromite for EBT Filling Application, which yields upto 95% Free Opening.
Olivine is a Grayish sandy odourless material, which is free flowing when dry. It isinsoluble in water and any common organic solvents

MgO 41-43% 43-45%; 43-47%
SiO2 41% MAX. Fe2O3 8 % MAX.
Al2O3 1% MAX. Cr2O3 0.25% Max.
CaO 0.2% Max. L.O.I. 0.5 - 1.5%
