Why are LED lights so expensive?
LED lighting is expensive at first sight. The initial investment will pay for itself quickly by the great saving of electricity and the long durability.
Do LEDs exclude radiation?
No. LEDs emit no UV or IR radiation. Which means that it does not get hot under an LED lamp, further no annoying hum or even dangerous radiation is produced.
Do LEDs produce heat?
With the emergence of light on the diodes of the LED heat is generated, but this is dissipated by the design of the LED to the rear and is very small. Under the light beam of an LED, it is not warm, therefore, it does not emit IR radiation. LED lamps can consequently be directed to photosensitive materials without damaging it in any way.
What happens if I drop a LED?
LEDs are extremely resistant. They do not have a hollow body which can implode,in contrast to a filament light bulb. Thus, they are absolutely insensitive to shocks and vibrations.
Can LEDs be dimmed?
Yes. Like any conventional lamp or incandescent lamps, an LED lamp can be dimmed easily. Depending on your room situation and the brightness it can be adjusted individually.
How about the power consumption?
The power consumption of LED is significantly lower than an incandescent bulb or a halogen lamp. Up to 90 percent of the energy can be saved compared with these bulbs. Even the so-called "energy saving lamp" can not keep up with the energy efficiency of an LED. The LED has the worlds lowest power consumption - and with maximum service life. A combination that could not be more economical.
Do LEDs fit into the older version lamps?
Yes. The current bulbs, for example the light bulb or energy saving bulb can be easily replaced with a new, energy-efficient and longer-lasting LED.
Is the brightness comparable to an incandescent bulb?
Yes. With the use of LED lamps one can illuminate any room just as bright as it would be with a conventional bulb.
Where is the difference to an energy saving bulb?
The difference is generally in the operation, energy efficiency, light output, lifetime and recycling. An energy saving bulb works on the use of toxic mercury and must be disposed separately. Furthermore, the energy-saving lamp with a light output of only 10 percent, and a burning time of 12,000 hours compared to an LED with an output of 30 percent and a lifetime of 35,000 hours is not efficient enough in the long term to remain a viable product.
Do LEDs require a lead time before they develop all their brilliance?
No, definitely not. Unlike the energy-saving bulb, which in some cases takes a few minutes to shine in its full brightness, LED light shines from the first second after switching on the full light intensity.
In what wattages are LEDs available?
LEDs are generally available in a range from 1 watt to 100 watts. Thus, they prove once again a high degree of flexibility in terms of lighting and design with light. For each function in each frame, there is a suitable LED.
