The Reflux Extractor is used for the quantitative determination of bitumen in hot-mixed paving mixtures and pavement samples. The bitumen content is calculated by the difference from the weight of extracted aggregates, moisture content and ash from an aliquot part of the extract. The Reflux Extractor Test Sets, 1000g or 4000g capacity, are supplied complete with cylindrical glass extractor jar, two wire mesh cones with interlocking frames, a water condenser with inlet/outlet tubes, pack of 50 filter papers and a hot plate.
