1. Blasting Coal Mining Technology

Coal mining by blasting features simple technology and simple equipment, strong adaptability to complicated geological conditions. But it requires large labor force and very time taking for loading, moving and fixing the equipment manually.
2. Conventional Mechanized Mining Technology
It is a coal mining process which is assisted by a machine, during which moving and fixing the conveyor is done by a hydraulic jack; support and withdrawal of the props for roof carving or filling are done manually. Compared with the blasting method, coal mining by this method will not only greatly simplify the coal production, reduce labor intensity but also increase the unit output of the coal face.
Figure on the right shows the equipment and its arrangement for conventional mechanized mining.

3. Fully Mechanized Coal Mining Technology
In this coal mining technology, all the processes like coal cutting or dropping, loading, conveying, roof support and control are fully mechanized. Equipment in the full-mechanized coal face includes drum shearer, chain conveyor, hydraulic self-moving roof support and some other auxiliaries. In the transportation gallery, there is a scrape loader and an extendable belt conveyor; in the ventilation roadway, there is also a mono-rail or a double-rail flat mine car to transport materials and equipment, etc.
