1. A slash of normal coating weight distinguishing the difference of tin coating weights on both sides. The left number of a slash means the top side coating weight of tinplate; the right number of a slash means the bottom side coating weight of tinplate.
2. The following designations and marking are used for differentially coated tinplate.
a) A: stands for the thick side of tinplate, eg. 2.8/5.6A means tin coating weight is 5.6g/m2 on the thick and bottom side.
b) D: stands for thin side of tinplate, eg. D2.8/5.6 means tin coating weight is 2.8g/m2 on the thin and topside.
