Product Description

  Bismuth is a silver white (pink) to pale yellow shiny metal, crisp and easy to crush; with a density of 9.8g/cm³ and a melting point of 271.3℃. Liquid bismuth will swell during solidification process. Conductivity and thermal conductivity are poor.  

  Bismuth is stable in air. At room temperature, does not react with oxygen or water. It can be burn when heating to above the melting piont, with a pale blue flame, gener ating bismuth oxide. It can also be combined with sulfur and halogen when red hot. Bismuth is considered to be the most stable element  of relative atomic mass.

Applications of Bismuth

 

1. Metallurgical Additives

Bismuth in iron, aluminum, magnesium and bronze, can improve the mechanical properties and wear resistance.  

2. Bismuth based low melting point fusible alloy  

The melting point of the fusible alloy general in 38~230℃, under the melting point less susceptible to the influence of temperature and pressure changes.
