Weathering Steel can be exposed to the atmosphere without painting. It begins to rust in the same way as ordinary steel. But soon the alloying elements in it cause a protective surface layer of fine-textured rust to form, thereby suppressing corrosion rate.

Weathering steel exhibit a good resistance to corrosion than ordinary steel, it has smallest alloy elements not like stainless steel and its price is more cheaper than stainless.In this way. The weathering steel helps to reduce lifecycle costs and environment burdens in a wide range of applications.

The steel is used for various types of welded, bolted and riveted constructions e.g. steel frame structures, bridges, tanks and containers, exhaust systems, vehicles and equipment constructions.
