Summary

JH-DN3416 is a D-node which has built-in CMTS module and CATV optical receiving module and ONU module (optional), those two optical input port connects upwards to CATV fiber and IP trunk fiber and the four high level output RF ports can connect to cable distribution network directly. D-node could finish CATV photovoltaic conversion, IP data photovoltaic conversion and mixture transmission of data and TV signals, actually, it is an “Integrated Service workstation”

The built-in CMTS module in JH-DN3416 adapts the Jinghong D3 series CMTS core which accord with DOCSIS 3.0 standard, there are 16 QAM channels which has 1.1Gbps data rate; for upstream, there are 4 QPSK/QAM channels which could reach up to 160Mbps.For data port, there are 1000Mbps power port (RJ45) and 1000Mbps optical port (SFP). There is also built-in ONU module (optional) for choice, it can work not only with Ethernet but also connect to EPON. There are also built-in CATV optical receiver and 1000 MHz bandwidth RF amplification module. It adapts CNC equilibrium and attenuation adjustment, can be operated via remote control.

JH-DN3416 can completely replace the current optical node equipment which could simplify the HFC network structure. Its excellent transmission capability can meet the NGB requirements completely which enable itself to be the core equipment of triple play projects.

Advantage of D-node

1) Standard matured technology, avoiding investment risk

Due to the standard matured technology, D-node can take full advantage of current transmission network and terminal equipment no matter the IP trunk is Ethernet or EPON, both compatible with. Operators will not be worried about the non-standard EOC technology; this will help to protect original resource and avoid investment risk.

2) Simplified network structure, improved reliability

D-node move the mixture point of data and TV signal downward to optical nodes. it  simplified the network structure greatly and advantages are as following:

There is no need for any traditional optical workstation and return path optical receiving equipment, simplified network structure, lower the network construction cost but improved whole system performance. User can choose D-node with power port if wants to keep the original optical receiver and transceiver.

4) Solve the contradiction between CMTS coverage efficiency and funnel noise

The traditional DOCSIS solution, due to the high price, is usually deployed in the front room. Wider coverage, higher coverage efficiency, lower cost for each CMTS, but the funnel will be bigger and the noise will be heavier, too. It seems that this is a natural contradiction. This could be solved by all service optical workstation.

5) Advanced Management System

Via the NMS, you can operate each D-node intensely in the center room including management for both equipment and end users.

Management for equipment:Monitor and control for working status, voltage, power level, temperature and resetting, it can configure and modify working mode and parameters remotely. It has failure warning function.

Management for end user:including user info, authority control, speed limits, billing settings, it can also monitor cable modem running status and parameters, too

Warning Function:including failure warning and running status alarming. Once any abnormal status of voltage, temperature and signal power level occurs or, the CM running RF parameters is on the edge, the package lost probability zooming rapidly; there will be warnings on the NMS interface.
