Delayed Type Waterborne Super Rheological Additive.
HT-W series is waterborne bentonite rheological thickening agent. It is a kind of distinctive plate silicate mineral which is derivative of montmorillonite, inducted into natural silicate inorganic polymer laminated form through polyhydric organic polymer form by method of hydration. It is the most prospective organic/inorganic polymer thickening agent. It provides better thixotropy and thickening in the water. It combines high-performance, flowing of organic thickening agent and stability, suspension of inorganic thickening agents. Its particular plate-form can provide stable rheological curve. It improves stability of storage and cans effect in water-based coatings.
Key Properties:
- Easy dispersion, applicable to high gloss and water borne transparent products.
- Can make pre-gel with high concentration of 20-25%
- Prevents pigment settling during storage and keep the systems stable
- Provides good anti-sagging and applicable to high build coatings.
- Increases viscosity and stabilizes the emulsion.
Application:
Waterborne Multicolor-Paint, Waterborne Industrial Paint, Latex Paint, Adhesives, Sealants, Waterborne paste, Ceramics, etc.
Incorporation:
- The initial viscosity is higher at making 20% pre-gel. So it needs to add HT-W801 into the water slowly and gradually. One hour later, the liquidity will be good (Better use potable water or deionized water. For hard water, needs treatment: ion-exchange, polyphosphates etc)
- Increasing the temperature(35—60℃) or adding electrolyte or higher speed shear can quicken the formation of pre-gel.
- In the status of mother solution, it can be added at any phase during the process of paint manufacturing
- No need adjust the PH value but in the acid range, HT-W801 becomes less stability a little.
- If add HT-W801 into the organic solvent based systems, the amount of solvent should be in the limitation. Usually does not exceed 50% Methanol, 30% Ethanol, 30% Isopropyl Alcohol, 50% Ethylene Glycols
Addition Level: 0.5-4% typically by weight of total formulation. The exact level depends on the systems.
