Description of bauxite
Bauxite is an aluminium ore and is the main source of aluminium. The ore itself is usually consist of the minerals gibbsite Al(OH)3, boehmite y-AlO(OH), and diaspore a-AlO(OH), in a mixture with iron ores and clays. Bauxite is typically classified according to their intended commercial application: metallurgical, abrasive, cement, chemical, and refractory.

Our bauxite is used in various sizes (also milled) in refractories. Hereto this bauxite is processed to customers’ demands and specifications. Our bauxite is available in paper bags, big bags and (wet or dry) loose in bulk.
Applications of Calcined Bauxite
Refractory Grade Calcined Bauxite (CB - I and CB - II Grade) : To make refractory grade, Bauxite is thermally treated at 1600 oC to produce Calcined Bauxite where the Alumina content is mostly above 82%.
Brown Fused Alumina, Proppants and Road Surfacing : To make the above grades, Bauxite is thermally treated at 1000 oC – 1200 oC to produce Calcined Bauxite where the Alumina content is anywhere between 80-88% depending on the requirement.
