Brown fused alumina number sand is made of bauxite, scrap iron and anthracite smelted in electric arc furnace at more than 2000 centigrade high temperature. Then, it was crushed by autogenous mill, removed the iron through magnetic separation, screened to variety granularity. It has dense character and high hardness. The particle shape is globular. It is applicable to manufacture ceramics, resinoid high bonded abrasive tools, grinding abrasive, polishing materials, sand blasting and precision casting. It is also used to manufacture high grade refractory.
