- UIT uses ultrasonic echo wave mode for 360° scanning of well bore to obtain acoustic wave amplitude and time images. The 2D images describe the image of rock formation or casing visually throughout well bore. The tool can be used both in an open hole to reflect hole geometry and to identify fractures, pores, holes and bedding etc. and in a cased hole to inspect perforation quality, to analyze casing damage and to evaluate cementing quality etc.
