Speed Camera SystemTelemax Introduces Major Performance Upgrade for Dome Cameras |
Beginning immediately and spanning through the remainder of 2010, Telemax will introduce higher-quality cameras within its V910, V926, VC-600, VC-700 and SurveyorVFT fixed-dome lines. A chart on the following page shows which models will be affected and when we anticipate the change-over to occur. |
Improvements: |
All domes on the following page, with the exception of WDR models, will benefit from a camera module that delivers dramatically improved image quality and offers additional controls and features. These include: |

? Digital Noise Reduction: This improves image quality in low light environments and provides a better compression ratio which decreases storage requirements. As all models will now include this feature, some of our current models are no longer necessary and will be discontinued. (Refer to chart.) ? Dynamic Range: The wider dynamic range improves details in bright and low light areas of the image. ? Resolution: The 560TVL provides additional resolution and a higher quality image ? On Screen Menu: The new camera modules have an on screen menu system that replaces the DIP switches and allows users to customize performance based on a wide range of variables. ? Privacy Masking: The new cameras provide the ability to mask out selected regions of the video. ? Higher Sensitivity: New models offer improved low-light performance. |

WDR models, where noted, will be using a new and improved version of the Pixim camera modules. This camera provides enhanced dynamic range by making use of Pixim’s patented, industry-leading Digital Pixel System® technology that provides pixel-by-pixel analysis and processing. Key improvements offered by the new model are a correction for color roll when capturing video under fluorescent lighting and an optional high-resolution mode that is controlled through the menu system. Please note the bulleted improvements listed above do not pertain to the Pixim cameras. |

New Naming System for Camera Model Numbers: |
In order to make the meaning behind model numbers easier to decipher and provide for more consistency between camera lines, Vicon is introducing a new naming system. Model numbers will be comprised of three groups of letters and numbers that represent the following: |
Camera line - camera type and lens type -transmission type |

? Examples of camera lines include the V910, V926, V600, V700, SVFTC (in ceiling), SVFTP (pendant) and SVFTW (outdoor pendant). ? Abbreviations for camera types are: C = color; N = day/night; D = WDR; I = IR ? Abbreviations for lens types are: 312 = 3.3 - 12mm; 550 = 5 - 50mm; 922 = 9 - 22mm; 266 = 2.6 - 6mm ? Abbreviations for transmission type are: V = ViconNet; H = H.264; T = twisted pair; F = fiber Model numbers that do not indicate a transmission method are assumed to employ coax. ? All basic model numbers are assumed to be NTSC. A -P is added at the end of the model number to indicate the PAL version. Please note that model numbers for new cameras on the following page make use of this naming convention. |
