Description:
1. Silicon carbide (SiC), also known as carborundum. It occurs in nature as the extremely rare mineral moissanite.
2.Silicon carbide is a man-made material manufactured through heating silica sand and carbon to high temperatures in the Acheson furnace technique.
3.Silicon carbide is an extremely hard material , is chemically inert and does not melt.
4.Silicon Carbide has a high thermal conductivity, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, is thermal shock and abrasion resistant and has strength at high temperatures.
1 .Black Silicon Carbide is suitable to grinding and cutting cast iron non-ferrous metal, leather ,
rubber , wood ,plastic etc.
2.It also can be made top grade refractories material It is mainly used to made sandpaper,
abrasive belt, Whetstone, grinding blocks, grinding head, grinding paste and photovoltaic
products.
3.It is mainly used as deoxidizer in steelmaking process,both used as the main raw material of
the silicon resin industry.
4.Wear-resistant, fire-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials.
5. Electronic applications of silicon carbide as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) anddetectors.
