All carcase structures ( including gable layout,back layout,bottom layout,top layout,shelf,rail layout ) are made of  16mm thickness Europe E1 standard high moisture-resistant melamine board, finished with 1mm thickness pvc edge-banding with the same color as carcase, with black ABS adjustable feet (H=150mm), adjustable/fixed shelf(ves), DTC triad screw. General European style Kitchen Specifications

 

General: We are committed to delivering high-quality kitchens and vanities.  Parts that are manufactured that do not meet these General Kitchen Specifications will be replaced at the expense of the manufacturer.  In certain critical cases the manufacturer will have to bear the expense of air freight to replace a crucial part that is not correctly made.  This will only occur if the kitchen is not usable while waiting for the part to arrive by sea freight.  If manufacturer is not prepared to meet these Specifications, please indicate the issue prior to accepting the order.

 

1.    Screws

1.1. All screws must be stainless steel

1.2.  Pilot holes must be drilled for all screws

1.3.  Countersink for all countersunk screws must be drilled

1.4.  All stainless steel screws must be supplied with kitchen

1.5.  Three extra screws of each size must be supplied with kitchen

2.    Hinges:

2.1.  DTC Clip-top Hinges, normally 95º but use other angles as required on individual carcasses and corner carcasses

2.2.  INSERTA steel boss with spring on door for easy assembly

2.3.  Boss cover cap not required

2.4.  INSERTA Cruciform mounting plate for carcass for easy assembly

3.    Drawer runners:

3.1.  Clip-on ball cage runners with at least 4 rows of ball bearings.  Use Hettich or equivalent runners.

3.2.  Full extension runners

3.3.  25kg load on small drawers

3.4.  45kg load on medium drawers

3.5.  75kg load on large drawers

4.    Adjustable feet on all base cabinets (except where noted differently)

4.1.  Adjustable feet made of stainless or galvanized steel to prevent rust if visible

4.2.  Adjustable feet made of plastic to retain plinth (kickboard) if not visible

5.    Carcasses:

5.1.  Assembled with Blum Knock Down Fittings or equivalent quick connect hardware, white housing

5.2.  Shelves are adjustable unless otherwise noted

5.3.  Fixed shelves attached with Blum Knock Down Fittings or equivalent quick connect hardware, white housing

5.4.  Adjustable shelves placed on brass pins with brass sleeves in carcass sides

5.5. Carcass material:

5.5.1. 18mm blockwood in fire-resist sandwich, edge-trimmed where appropriate

5.5.1.1.    Core 14mm between 2mm laminate on each side

5.5.2.  No voids in blockwood greater than 1 cubic cm

5.5.3.  Blockwood construction moisture controlled to 12%

5.5.4.  Where possible, holes for quick connect pins are drilled perpendicular to blockwood joins

5.5.5.  Where carcasses join side-by-side, countersunk pilot holes should be drilled in one carcass for the screws that will bolt the carcasses together (with no holes drilled in the other carcass, because the exact location of the screws will depend on the adjustable levelling feet, and can only be drilled at the final customer site after final levelling)

5.6. Fire-resist board glued to blockwood with Moisture Resistant Glue

5.6.1.  No bubbles

5.7.  No chipping of fire-resist board where holes are drilled so that hardware fixtures can be inserted

5.8.  Carcass dimensions to be made +/- 1mm

5.9.  For hanging wall cabinets, Blum Knock-in wall hanging brackets

6.    Doors and drawers:

6.1.  No chipping or cracking of timber or MDF material where holes are drilled into doors or drawers

6.2.  Door and drawer dimensions to be made +/- 1mm

7.    Pinths

7.1. Plinths must be clip-on type, not permanently fixed in place

8.    Finishes:

8.1.  Timber:

8.1.1.  Oak, maple, or birch as specified by customer in natural finish; others as demanded by customers

8.1.2. Thickly coated, as with previously supplied samples from Shenzhen Hestia

8.1.3.  No finger-jointed or block-joined frames or panels.  Large panels can be made of 2-4 pieces of wood if necessary, as long as the join is vertical and runs the entire length of the panel

8.1.4.  Panel frames must be of solid wood construction, no finger-joint or blockwood construction

8.1.5.  Wood joints must join smoothly

8.1.6.  No excess glue can be visible

8.1.7.  No surface imperfections

8.2.  PVC:

8.2.1.  Vacuum-Formed to MDF board

8.2.2.  Color as chosen by customer

8.2.3.  No bubbles

8.2.4.  No surface imperfections

8.2.5.  Waterproof glue used to bind PVC to MDF

8.3.  2-pack polyurethane

8.3.1.  Color as chosen by customer

8.3.2.  No imperfections

8.3.3.  Packed in bubblewrap to avoid chipping while shipping

8.4.  Lacquered UV

8.4.1.  Color as chosen by customer

8.4.2.  No imperfections

8.4.3.  Packed in bubblewrap to avoid damage in shipment

8.4.4.  Color of aluminium trim normal silver unless chosen otherwise by customer  

9.    Countertops

9.1. Please see separate document Countertop Specifications for details on how to make our countertops

10. Handles

10.1.         Holes for mounting all handles must be drilled 

10.2.         Handles must be parallel to the drawer bottom or side, whichever applies

10.3.         Handles must be centered when appropriate

10.4.         All handle screws must be supplied
