The common problems about conveyor belt
1.Why the conveyor belt will be longer than before after using a period of time ?
The conveyor belt will become longer in the using. One of the reason is elastic elongation, after canceling the the external force, the conveyor belt can reinstate. The another reason is shrinkage elongation of the framework material. This one can’t reinstate. In the normal fabric conveyor belt, the elongation of EP fabric is small, but the NN fabric is big. When there is a force on the NN conveyor belt, the NN fabric’s creepage is large, so in the using, extension ratio become large. After canceling the force, the recover is much more little than the elongation.
2.How to choose the conveyor belt ?
(1) Explain the name and the properties of the material accurately. Especially the particle, temperature, whether need acid-resistant or alkali-resistant, or other special requirements. Such as the temperature specification in the using of the heat-resistant conveyor belt.
(2) Explain what the conveyor belt will be used for and the request to technical data (such as width, length, ply-no, thickness, etc), Especially the heat-resistant conveyor belt’s working temperature and loading.
(3) In transportation and storage, should be kept clean and to avoid under sunlight, rain and snow, to prevent contact with the acid, alkali, oil, organic solvent. Distance must be one meter away from the heating device.
(4) When store in the warehouse. The warehouse temperature should keep between -18°C~ 40°C
The relative humidity should keep between 50%~80.%
(5) During the storage, the conveyor belt must be package in rolls, not folding, the conveyor belt should be turn over once every three month..
3.Why there will be the off tracking in the use of the conveyor belt ?
The main reasons are
(1) The tension is uneven in the process of weaving. Cause one side is loose, but another is tight.
(2) The thickness is different. One side is thick, but another is thin.
(3) The tension is different in the manufacture of the flame retardant conveyor belt.
4.The correct way of using the conveyor belt.
(1) To prevent the conveyor belt load startup.
(2) When there is a off tracking, should be correct timely.
(3) It is not good to use the conveyor belt that was jointed by different types, different specifications and different layer number. The connection with rubber vulcanized joint is best.
(4) The type, structure, specification and layer should be choice according to the work condition of the conveyor belt.
(5) The running speed should not be more than 2.5 m/s. To the big pieces material, sharp and harmful material and fixed discharging device, the conveyor belt should be running as far as possible at low speed.
(6) The relationship between the drive roller diameter and fabric layer number, driver roller and re-direction roller, and the request to roller groove angle should be reasonable selection according to the regulations of the design of the conveyor.
(7) Feeding direction should be along the conveyor belt running direction, to reduce the down material impact on conveyor belt should use the chute, reduce material down distance. Receiving material section, should let the distance of roll be short and use the buffer roll for receiving the material. In order to avoid hurt the conveyor belt, It is better to use the soft moderate keep-off board.
(8) In the using, if there is a condition of roll lack, should add a new one or repair timely. The running will be ineffective, if the roll is covered by the material. Prevent leakage of material into the space between the rolls and the conveyor belt. Pay attention to the lubrication of conveyor belt activities. There should not be oil stain on the surface of the conveyor belt.
(9) Take care of the conveyor belt is blocked by the frame, pillar or big pieces material. Prevent touch broken rip. Found local damaged of the conveyor belt, application of viscose repaired in a timely manner, so as not to expand.
