Clevis type metallic fittings for 6' Disc Insulator
A. CAP:
1) Materials : Malleable Cast iron the materials should be as per ASTM A-47-77
2) Size & Dimension: The size & dimension should strictly conform to drawing no-BI-1201M enclosed. The unspecified tolerance should be as per ASTM A47-77 table-2.
3) Minimum tensile Breaking Strength : Samples of cap shall withstand the load of 6,000 Kgs. (Min)
4) Micro Structure: The micro structure shall be free from forming graphite and shall not contain massive carbide and perlite in quantities to minimum tensile breaking strength.
5) Chemical Composition: The phosphorus content of the casting shall not exceed 0.12%.
B. BALL EYE:
1) Materials : Forged steel ( M.S. Grade-1030)
2) Size Dimension: The size & dimension should strictly conform to drawing No- BI- 1201 M enclosed. The unspecified tolerance should be for liner +_ 0.5 mm and ANGULAR +_ ½.
3) Mechanical strength : Sample of Ball Eye must not fair at 6,000 Kgs. When subjected to tensile test.
C. COTTER PIN:
1) Materials : Forged Steel (M.S. Grade-1030)
2) Size & Dimension : The size & dimension should strictly conform to drawing No- BI 1201 M Enclosed. The unspecified tolerance should be for liner +_ 0.5 mm and ANGULAR +_ ½.
3) The cotter pin should withstand transverse load of 6,000 Kgs. Without failure tested in assembly with the cap.
D. SPLIT PIN:
1) Materials : Stainless steel or Bronze.
2) Size & Dimension : Size & Dimension : The size & dimension should strictly conform to drawing No- BI 1201 M Enclosed. The unspecified tolerance should be for liner +_ 0.5 mm and ANGULAR +_ ½.
3) Mechanical Properties: Hump type Split Pin installed in the cotter pin shall prevent cotter pins from unintentionally being pulled out of the insulator cap during handing, normal use and testing.
(The Cap, Ball Eye & Cotter Pin should be hot dip galvanized, the galvanizing test shall be carried out as per IEC publication 383, 1976 for continuity of galvanized for 4 dips. Sample should also be drawn at random from the lots to check defects by visual inspection. The defects such as un-galvanized spots, flaming, unfilled zinc, non- uniform coating etc. shall not be accepted.)
N.B:
Packing: International standard sea worthy exportable packing (made by wood) suitable for transit by sea, rail & Road. The Cap, Ball Eye, & cotter pin split pin shall be packed separately. 200 pcs. Of split pin should be packed in each
