Introduction
FIVG series impulse voltage test systems are mainly used to generate standard lightning impulse (LI), full or chopped waves, switching impulse (SI) wave, impulse voltage ranges from 10kV to 7200kV (LI 7200kV, SI 5000kV), energy from 2.5kJ to 720kJ. Also it can be used to carry out steeping and oscillating impulse test by adding some extra equipment.
We offer various kinds of structure design for impulse voltage generator, inclusive of L type, G type, H type, V type and etc.
Level voltage: 100kV, 150kV, 200kV, 300kV
Level energy: 5kJ, 10kJ, 15kJ, 20kJ, 30kJ

The basic system can be upgraded in various ways for special tests and greater ease of operation. A number of additional circuits and components allow optimizing the impulse test system for testing different kind of high voltage test objects.

Impulse voltage test systems, also known as Marx generators, are mainly used to generate impulse test voltage for checking insulation performances of HV apparatus, including,

The tests are conducted with lightning (LI), full or chopped waves, and / or switching impulses (SI) as prescribed in the relevant international standards. (IEC, ANSI/IEEE and other national standards)
Features
1. Low inductance in impulse voltage generator circuit, with band-stop filter measures, still can generate standard waveform in case of large capacitance load, big load capacity.
2. High voltage utilization efficiency, LI >90%, SI>80%.
3. Compact structure, nice appearance, convenient wave shaping, easy operation, good synchronized performance, reliable action.
4. Using SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) and LC constant current charging automatic control technology, high automation and strong anti-interference.
5. The measure software has already been evaluated by GB/T and IEC standard.

Principle
Impulse voltage test system operates under a control system which charges the impulse generator through the charging unit. This is achieved as the stages in the impulse voltage generator are connected in parallel via the charging resistors. Charging time and voltage can be selected.
Once the selected charging voltage has been reached, a trigger pulse initiates firing of the first spark-gap of the impulse voltage generator. As all the spark-gap fire, the stages which are connected in series, multiply the charging voltage to reach the test voltage.
Any impulse voltage divider reduces the impulse voltage to a value that the measuring and recording instruments required.
