  • Blufloc AC4581 is a chemical that can be applied to disturbed soils at construction sites to reduce erosion and improve settling of suspended sedment.
  • Blufloc AC4581 increase the soil's available pore volume, thus increasing infiltration and reducing the quantity of stormwater funoff that can cause erosion. Suspended sediments from Blufloc AC4581 treated soils exhibit increased flocculation over untreated soils. The increased flocculation aids in their deposition, thus reducing stormwater runoff turbidity and improving water quantity.
  • Blufloc AC4581 is polymer-based materials used to facilitate erosion control and decrease soil sealing by binding soil particles, especially clays, to hold them on site. In addition, these types of materials may also be used as a water treatment additive to remove suspended particles from runoff.
  • Blufloc AC4581 : Environmentally friendly; non-toxic to plants&animals; non-crorrosive  - will not change PH of soil or water.

Suitable Applicaitons:

PAM is suitable for use on disturbed soil areas taht discharge to a sediment trap or sediment basin. PAM is typically used in conjunction with other BMPs to incease their performance.

PAM can be applied to the following areas:

  1. Rough graded soil taht will be inactive for a period of time.
  2. Final graded soils before applications of final stabilizations(e.g., paving, planting, mulching.)
  3. Temporary haul roads piror to placement of crushed rock surfacing.
  4. Compacted soil road base.
  5. Constrction staging, materials storage, and layout areas.
  6. Soil stockpiles.
  7. Areas that will be mulched.

What is the Functional Principle of Blufloc AC4581?

  • Flocculation Mechanism:  Adsorbing suspension particles, polymer chains entangle and cross-link each other to form bridging, and make flocculation structure enlarge and thicken, and has the functions of surface adsorption and electric neutralization.
  • Reinforcing Mechanism:  Blufloc molecule chain and dispersed phase form bridging bond, ion bond and covalent bond to increase combination strength.

Application 

Anchor in ditches / manholes / catch basins as far upstream as possible. The dissolved polyacrylamide must mix well in the moving water and have the opportunity to settle out the suspended solids.
Small Jobs: Use 1 brick / 1 acre drainage basin.
Large jobs: Calculate the number of bricks needed based on the weight of water being treated.
Recommended dose – 10 ppm. Inspect after each rain event. Normally lasts 2-4 months.
