How to:Plant Potato?
Planting potatoes is easy. But you do need a sunny spot that has at least 6 hours of sun per day. The best times for planting are July through August. You also need some seed potatoes. These can be purchased or made on your own!
Prepare 9 gallons of potting soil (add granular fertilizer if not already included). Purchase, or make your own seed Potatoes.
Fill the bag with around 5" of moistened soil. Add your seed potatoes spaced evenly, and then add another 4" of soil on top.
Plant your potato starter plants by gently loosening their roots and plugging them into each pocket. Plant more potato around the top rim on edges hanging down (for more tips on cool alternatives to top planting in your potato check out our website!) Finally, water again slowly and evenly till water begins to drip or saturate the base.
Maintain once your plant's stalks grow about 5" above the dirt line, it's time to add more soil. Unfold the bag and add another 5". Repeat this process till bag is full. Water regularly and watch for pests!
