The main functions:

  1. Electronic ear defenders allow normal speech and sound to be heard but automatically deaden any noise above 85dB to protect the ears.

Operating instructions:

   1. Extend headband to maximum open position and place the cups over ears with the headband passing over the head.

   2. Settle the headband in position on the head while adjusting the height of the ear cups up or down until they feel comfortable and the headband rests on the top of the head to support the muffs.

   3. Make sure that the headband is evenly adjusted, left to right. The ear cushion should be a snug fit against the head.

   4. Make sure to get as little air as possible between the ear cushion and your head.

   5. Ensure the hearing protectors are worn at all times in noisy surroundings

   6. Ensure the hearing protectors are regularly maintained and inspected for serviceability.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

   Performance may deteriorate with battery usage. The typical period of continuous use that can be expected from the hearing protector batteries is 200 hours. When the output level of the hearing protector is no longer satisfactory, the batteries should be replaced. Ear-tect Model ET-E1 uses 4 (LR03) AAA alkaline batteries (not supplied). Replace the batteries as follows: Insert a large flat bladed screwdriver into the slot between the cup and the cushion (in the position shown) and gently twist the screwdriver to lever off the cushion. Insert 2 x AAA batteries into the holders in each cup, being careful to ensure the polarity is correct. Then replace the foam and the cushion and push the cushion firmly onto the cup. Check that it has ‘clicked’ home all around the edge. CAUTION! If the batteries are inserted the wrong way round and the hearing protectors are “switched on” the batteries will quickly deteriorate, but no harm will come to hearing protector’s circuit.

CLEANING

   The ear-muffs should be cleaned and disinfected at regular intervals, using soap and water or a mild disinfectant that is safe for skin contact, and will not adversely affect ABS or PVC plastics. Ensure that liquid does not enter cup. This product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances, please only ensure use of cleaning agents that will not cause damage to the plastic or foam components.

IMPORTANT

   Please follow and adhere to the operational usage and maintenance as detailed above. If these recommendations are not adhered to, the resultant protection level offered by the hearing protectors may be seriously compromised.

GUARANTEE

   A full guarantee is offered in respect of any defect in materials or manufacture for the period of three (3) years from date of purchase. The purchaser should please retain dated proof of purchase from the sales outlet where purchased.

Damage due to neglect or abuse is specifically excluded.
