Drive-In/Drive-Through Rackings are cost effective solution for high density storage allowing you to store up to 75% more than selective racking. They are particularly suitable to store very large quantities of homogeneous good where the picking and storage can be facilitated by forklift trucks driving right into the racks.
The systems are frequently used in cold stores (refrigeration and freezing) which require maximum use of space for the storage of products in a controlled temperature.
Drive-In racking operates on the basis first-in; last out [LIFO] where picking and replenishment are done from one side only. While for Drive-Through racking, it offers the advantage that picking and replenishment can take place in both aisleways, allowing first-in first out (FIFO) inventory management to be operated.
