Industrial electric water heater :
An industrial electric water heater is a mechanism that heats a variety of fluid types — including water, oil, solvents, salts, plating baths and acids — used in industrial applications. Immersion heaters come in three varieties — over the side, flanged, and screw plug — and are installed in a tank or other vessel. With the heating element immersed in the fluid it’s warming, all of the heat is generated within the liquid and the immersion heater becomes almost 100 percent energy efficient.
The three major types of tank heaters include flanged, over-the-side, and screw plug. Flanged heaters are bolted to their container, and are the most permanent form of immersion water heater. Over-the-side heaters are named for the fact that they dangle over the side of the tank, which makes them more easily repositioned and removed. Screw plug heaters are plugged into the side of a tank, and are used for larger volumes of liquid. Both over-the-side and screw plug heaters come in many different designs, and they are also frequently used to heat liquids other than water.

Tanks or processes with tar, asphalt, wax, heat transfer fluids, oil and other petroleum products, fuel oil, alcohol, caustic, and other "heavy" mediums.
SB = 316 Stainless Steel
Detergent based cleaning solutions, liquid ammonia, vegetable oil, Deionized water, electroless nickel and other alkaline plating solutions.
T = Titanium
Seawater, brine, chromic acid, Deionized water.
N = Incoloy ®
Air and many gases, Deionized water and other high temperature processes.
TF = Teflon ®
Hydrofluoric acid,ammonia bi-fluoride, Deionized water.
Installation Recommendations
- Select the heater size best suited for your application.
- Choose the appropriate watt density for the solution.
- Choose the proper sheath for the solution being heated to avoid corrosion.
- Uniform heat distribution in larger tanks is enhanced by the use of several heaters rather than one large heater.
- Protect heaters and tank against liquid level drops with safety controls.
- Clean heaters periodically to avoid premature failure.
- Avoid physical damage to heaters.
- Mount all heaters securely.
- Use the appropriate terminal box for each application.
- Select an appropriate temperature control.
- Electrical wiring should be in accordance with national and local codes.
