Refractory Bauxite Introduction

 

Refractory Bauxite is produced from non metallurgical Bauxite grades with a high diasporic content through sintering in kilns at 1650-1700°C. Al2O3 contents range from 60 %, 86 % to 88 %. Densities range from 2,55g/cm³, 2.84 g/cm³ to 3,33 g/cm³. There are three kinds of kilns for calcination process: rotary kiln, shaft kiln and round kiln.
The Most important characteristics of Calcined Bauxite are high thermal stability, high mechanical strength and good resistance to molten slags. Calcined Bauxite is typically applied in working lining refractories for blast furnaces, runners and torpedo ladles, moreover in nose rings, kiln hoods and tertiary air duct refractories for the cement industry. Non-refractory applications are slag forming agents in secondary metallurgy, concretes for vault production and high friction surface aggregate for road construction and industrial floors. Besides the above mentioned products we can offer a broad range of calcined Bauxites on our customers` request, e.g. calcined in rotary, round or shaft kiln, with alumina contents of 60-90%, silica 5-30%, Fe2O3 typically below 2% and titania contents that are usually not higher than 4%. Calcined Bauxite are supplied in standard fractions of 0-1, 1-3, 3-5, 5-10mm, 0-90µm and 0-150µm, packed in 1,2 ton big bags or 25kg paper bags on pallets or bulk in silo-trucks. Other fractions are available on request. The process of crushing, sieving, magnetic seperation and milling takes place at our own plant according to our customers’requirements.
