Keratonosus: Keratonosus is common in clinical ophthalmology, and it is one of the important causes of blindness. Cornea is easy to be harmed, this is because it is in the frond of eyeball, and contacts with the outside world directly; it has no blood vessel and a poor ability to arouse body's own cells to resist the virus, a lesser nutrient supply than other organs, so that , once microbials attacks the cornea, it is easy to be infect with a slow pathologic process, and the cloudy scars after healing will effect the vision.
Corneal scarring: When it is in the lustration period of corneal ulcer, the connective tissue proliferation to repair deficiency, ulcer heal and then scar. If the ulcer is small and thin and only involving the epithelial cell layer, the corneal can recover to transparent completely. However, if the anterior elastic membrane and the superficial layer of corneal substance are influenced, it will leave cloudy scars. These scars are shallow and lightless in the beginning, and they will become more and more thick but never over the edge of ulcer. The disappear of corneal scarring can only happen in lactants. If the age is a little bit older, it will leave permanent scars which lead vision disorder, and the deeper corneal ulcer is, the thicker the scars are, which are formed by connective tissue. Thin scar is called nebula, the thicker one is named macula, and then the thickest are leukoma. The leukoma could not only influenced the vision seriously, but also appearance of patients.
