In daily life, most of people like the big eyes which are bright, but not the big eye caused by myopia. Meanwhile, the small eyes are also very cute, but they should not be the small eye caused by hyperopia.

Hyperopia is due to the short eye axis. If not in use control mode, parallel light rays focus behind the retina, and can't form a clear image in the retina. So how does hyperopia happen?
As a baby, the average eye axis is about 17.3mm. And from the length of the eye axis, 17.3mm means hyperopia. It can be said that the baby's hyperopia is physiological. Later, with the baby's physical development, the axis of slowly growth, and when growing into adult, the vision should be or close to normal level. But in the eye development process, because of internal (genetic) and outside environment of the effect, some people’s eyeballs stop growing, and their eye axis can't reach normal level. For these people, they still keep babies or children's eye axis, and then became axial hyperopia. Under another situation, people will get myopia.
The long or short of Eye axis will cause myopia or hyperopia. This is why most of myopic patients are with big eyes, and hyperopic patients are with small eyes. In addition, the change of eye diopter also is the cause of myopia and hyperopia. For myopia patient, diopter is often higher than normal level, and for hyperopia, the diopter is lower. And refractive hyperopia is the result of weakening refractive power of lens. It is caused by physiological changes in old age and also the pathological changes in the treatment of diabetes. This is presbyopia.
Glaucoma is not only the complication of myopia; hyperopia can also cause glaucoma, especially high hyperopia. Because eye with presbyopia is small and this kind of small is not only the short of eye axis but also the change of axis direction. The cornea of highly presbyopia is also small. Due to the small shape change of lens, the anterior chamber became small and make the eye are more prone to get glaucoma. So we can not ignore hyperopia.
Both myopia and hyperopia can damage eyes, so how to deal with them?
From the purpose of the vision restoring, frame glass can play this role for both myopia and hyperopia. If from the purpose of correction or control development, frame glass is useless. Although laser surgery can restore vision, and do not need to wear glasses, but it can only help people restore vision, but can not control the myopia development.
