Elastomeric Bridge Bearings :
This bearing is desirable for bridges. Pot bearing is economical due to simpleconstruction method and it is structurally more compact, light, and lower in construction height and long service life. The main part of bearing are sliding plate,alloy steel sliding surface, bearing pot, PTFE disc,pot cover, vulcanized-inpressure seal, elastomeric pad and seal against moisture.
The bearing is classified as three types: sliding guided type, free sliding bearing and fixed type.Dimensions and
weights for deviating permissible concrete pressures and unusual load conditions will be calculated on request.
Depending on the area of application and country requirements pot bearings can be supplied in accordance with
various standards, e.g. DIN 4141, BS5400, AASHTO, JT391, etc .

Application of Elastomeric Bridge Bearing:
Elastomeric Bridge Bearing is finding ever increasing application in today`s construction industry. Although used extensively in Bridges, bearing pads are being specified in a wide variety of applications where flexible structural
support and/ or vibration isolation is required. The typical application range is from concrete buildings and parking
garages to heavy industrial equipment, storage tanks and pipe supports.

Rubber bridge bearing divided into the following according to bearing structural type:
(a) Common Plate Type Rubber bridge bearing is divided into rectangular Plate Type Elastomeric Bridge Bearing
(code name GJZ) and circular Plate Type Rubber bridge bearing (code name GYZ);
(b)PTFE Plate Type Elastomeric Bridge Bearing is divided into rectangular PTFE Plate Type Elastomeric Bridge Bearing (code name GJZF4) and circular PTFE Plate Type Elastomeric Bridge Bearing (code name GYZF4).
Description of Elastomeric Bridge Bearing:
Elastomeric Bridge Bearing generally consists or interleaving layers of rubber bonded sandwich fashion to steel
plates. The whole unit is covered with rubber to afford weather protection.
A bridge basically consists of bridge deck supported by piers. In order to avoid over stressing and damage by movements of vehicle and loading to the piers, Elastomeric Bridge Bearings are used to accommodate these movements
so as to reduce the reaction forces and bending movement to within the safety limits of structure. Elastomeric Bridge Bearing is an ideal engineering material for bridge bearings as it is highly elastic and sufficiently soft to accommodate these movements without transmitting harmful stress and also it can absorb and isolate energies from impacts and
vibrations.
