Double material trimmer means cutting the ruffles both side. and Single material trimmermeans cutting the ruffles on side.
Needle distance is a key features on kidswear with 5.2mm and 6.0mm for adults clothes.(  individual opinions )
Pressure foot lift is important for machine users,it depend on how thickness the material is.
