The predecessor of Bofei, Beijing Optical Instruments Factory, was founded in 1958, the decades of glorious progress of which contains the development history of Chinese instrument of surveying and mapping. Such technology innovation products as Chinese first optical theodolite, first level gauge with erect image and self-leveling functions, first precision fixed-frequency gas laser rangefinder, first ranging theodolite, first digital level gauge, first static measuring GPS receiver, first centimeter-sized handheld GPS RTK receiver and first Compass measuring RTK receiver are all developed and produced by our company and awarded many national and provincial prizes and honors. Bofei became Chinese first enterprise of the industry that passing the ISO9001 certification in 1995 the products of which have been applied many times in such key projects and national affairs as antarctic scientific expeditions and international peacekeeping missions for its excellent performance.
At present, Bofei is one of high-tech enterprises in Beijing with possession of dozens of patents and software copyrights as well as the national important R&D and production base of optical, mechanical and electronic integration fine measuring instruments. In addition, the company possesses a post doctoral scientific research workstation and the Beijing municipal enterprise technology center, and establishes the Geographic Information Technology & Equipment Joint Laboratory of Wuhan University and Bofei Co., Ltd.
