The introduction of the POPX in the mid-90's changed the world of top water games, and was one of the first Japanese lures to demonstrate the cutting-edge, premium craftsmanship of the young Japanese industry. The unique water shockwave created by the specialized cup design, intelligently constructed "Spit and Splash," and the extremely responsive rolling dog-walk action are all essential to defining the POPX's success. The POPX has approximately 10 different original motion patterns, and countless hand-painted finishes. The POPX is a killer bait that has been proven to excite the most timid and easily spooked fish time and time again, in challenging fields throughout the world. Like all other Megabass products, the POPX was inspired, designed, and produced in Japan. However, as one of the first Megabass lures to be sold outside of Japan, the POPX has a special place in our hearts, and the hearts of anglers around the world. •Water Duct PAT.
Excess water caught by the cup is sent through a duct and channeled out the rear. Along with a lively popping sound, the expelled water also creates bubbles, enticing bass that are lurking deep below. In saltwater applications, the water flow expelled from the ducts during high speed retrieves helps maintain the lure's stability.
♦Not too light, not too heavy: the perfect weight ratio to grab the water
The POPX has a large impact and presence for its size, capturing the attention of fish below the surface. The body is constructed with a custom resin tuned to the same density as wood, for an exceedingly natural presentation. This is evident by examining its behavior in the water, namely its wake and its responsive movements. Not only for dawn and dusk, the POPX will perform excellently even under the midday sun.

In Japan’s toughest tournaments, 11 Anglers won “Angler of The Year” awards using Megabass products. In the saltwater tournaments held in Japan and around the world, Megabass had 6 Angler of The Year & Champions, and came out as winning tackle in 172 tournaments.

The Japanese Society for The Promotion of Industrial Design has awarded us with the Good Design Award 17 times thus far, and 201 of our products are deemed Good Design Award Products. At the 2010 Milano Salone World Design Expo in Italy, Megabass products were the first fishing tackle in the world to be chosen as a display piece in the prestigious Triennial museum, and showed the industrial world Megabass’ artistic prowess.

Originally, the paint used on Ferraris was Rosso Corsa (Ferrari red) made by the Glasurit Company of Germany, known for their cockatoo logo. After that, the paint was changed to what is still used today, and according to enthusiasts there is a discernible difference between the two different paint coats when viewed under sunlight.
Megabass uses various cutting edge paints and traditional paints alongside various cutting edge production methods and traditional production methods. The new and the old are exquisitely intertwined in this flexible production environment, made possible by retaining direct control over the factory and production facilities. An extraordinary amount of skill and craftsmanship is poured in to the process as we convert lifeless chunks of metal and resin into lifelike products with dazzling finishes.
