Momme weight refers to the weight of a “piece” of silk fabric that is 300 feet long and 45 inches wide, in pounds; so if 300 feet of a piece of 45 inches wide silk fabric weighs 25 pounds, we say this piece of fabric is made from “25 momme silk”.
Silk and satin are both smooth and soft. These two materials are widely used by people because of its smoothness. While silk is natural, satin is artificial. Silk is made from cocoons of silk worms.
