Its tensile strength 3500Mpa more, is 7-9 times of steel ; and tensile elastic modulus is 23000~ 43000Mpa, higher than tensile modulus of elasticity of steel , and its specific gravity less than steel 1/4 ; while in an organic solvent , acid and alkali insoluble non- swelling, excellent corrosion resistance . Following Global pollution, the gradual depletion of oil and gas and other energy sources, carbon fiber is a good replacement for the steel, aluminum, wood etc due to its excellent physical and chemical properties.
