General
For barley grass powder the young barley grass leaves are harvested at the peak of the growth phase. Thus, we obtain the nutrients and the energy that the plant normally used for production of the grains.
The leaves are young, strong and delicate - all characteristics that we get from eating. Already the Egyptians have the leaves and the grain is greatly appreciated many years ago and used in many ways. Scientifically, the barley grass was first extensively studied about 40 years ago by Dr. Yoshihide Hagiwara.
