Powder phosphor-based electroluminescent panels are frequently used as backlight to liquid crystal displays. They readily provide a gentle, even illumination to the entire display while consuming relatively little electric power. This makes them convenient for battery-operated devices such as automotive instrument panel, pagers, wristwatches, computer, gifts etc -controlled thermostats and their gentle green-cyan glow is a common sight in the technological world. They do, however, require relatively high voltage (best between 90 and 120 volts). For battery-operated devices, this voltage must be generated by a converter circuit within the device. Electroluminescent lights operate in this fashion. Brightness per unit area increases with increased voltage and frequency.
-Power Supply: EL Inverter
All EL products needs an Inverter to power it. These inverters start with 3Volts, 5Volts, 6Volts, 9Volts, 12Volts or 110~240Volts power supply and then transfer the voltage around 100Volts and frequency around 800HZ that makes the Electro-Luminescent Phosphor in the EL glow brightly.
