International organic food development situation

From a global perspective, the sales volume of organic food ia less then 1% of all the food volume all over the world. But it develop very fast and have a big sales potential. Somebody forecasted that the quantity of organic food will be about 5% of the quantity of all food volume.

Therefore, there are different situations in different areas, in developing countries, many people still did not slove the problem of food, so the development of organic food is slow, and in the developed coutries, people know organic food early and invest in organic food more and deep plus the advantage policy given by government to push the development of the organic food planting, the organic agriculture develop faster, for example there are 5% agricultural farms specially produce raw material of organic food; organic food contains 5% quantity of all the food market, almost infant food is organic food. The farms which deal with organic food production is about 2%-3% in the other countries in Europe, in the 1990s. about 1716 factories registered for producing organic food products. Almost all chain stores in America sell organic food, about 1/3 of American will buy organic food. In 1980s, the sales volume of organic food is about 78,000,000 dollars and the volume of 2000 is estimated as 6 billions dollars, with a rise speed as 20% every year and the people who work for organic agricultural is rising with a speed as 12% per year. Nowdays, in Japan, there are more then 8000 organic farms, and the  maket value of the organic food develop from 30 billion JPY to 350 billion JPY in 2000, the growth rate is 30% per year.
